PLRC Receives NIDDK-DDRCC Funding

It is our great pleasure to announce the successful funding of the Pittsburgh Liver Research Center (PLRC) by the NIH/NIDDK through a P30 mechanism. We are now one of the 20 NIDDK-designated Digestive Disease Research Core Centers and one of three that are liver focused.

Faculty Spotlight - David Geller, MD

Dr. Geller is a liver transplant and hepato-biliary surgeon, and he currently serves as Director of the UPMC Liver Cancer Center. His research interests are molecular mechanisms of liver cancer signaling pathways, liver transplant ischemia/ reperfusion (I/R) injury, human hepatocyte isolation and tissue banking, image guided liver surgery, and laparoscopic liver resection.
